One can’t escape those piercing
eyes,
That scan
our wretched sham.
I fell and craved His mercy,
He saw plainly what I am.
Beyond wrongs already done,
He knew
my awful thought.
Beheld my scarlet episodes,
My busy spirit wrought.
As lightning in the darkest hour,
The twinkling
of an eye.
He nailed my blatant teaming guilt,
and I could not reply.
Most certainly I saw the death,
That I
so well deserved.
For all my selfish do-good way,
T’was Satan I had served.
For sure I wasn’t owing men?
I’ve paid
my keep, room’n board.
But “life” He said don’t come that way,
Now how could I afford?
The price, “You must surrender all”,
Placing
your trust in “Me”.
“I made the world on which you stand,
The islands and the sea”.
Omnipotent, I see Him now,
I orbit
in His mystery.
With promise there will be no death,
And life unbound by history.
